1. Entry process and processing time upon arrival are simplified.

    • From 21 March 2022, those who are fully vaccinated in Korea or fully vaccinated abroad and registered the vaccination history in the COVID-19 Vaccination Verification System (COOV) will be exempted from the isolation upon arrival.

    • From 1 April 2022, those who are fully vaccinated abroad, however, not registered the vaccination history in the COVID-19 Vaccination Verification System (COOV) will be exempted from the isolation upon arrival.

    • “Fully vaccinated” is defined as those who received two jabs of WHO-approved vaccines (1 jab for Janssen) for 14-180 days, and those who received a booster shot (3rd).

    • Vaccines approved by WHO for emergency use are: Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca, Janssen, Novavax, Sinopharm, Sinovac, Covishield, Covaxin, and Covovax.

    • Eligible persons must access the Quarantine Information Pre-Entry System (Q-CODE) website, enter their full name, email address, details of the passport, details of entry/stay, vaccination history (may need to attach the certificates), and be issued with a QR code.     • Eligible persons must present the negative PCR test certificate taken (not issued) within 48 hours before the departure date.

  2. From 4 February 2022, all travelers entering Korea will be quarantined upon arrival.

  3. From 3 December 2021, the Quarantine Exemption policy will be strengthened.

    • The quarantine exemption certificate will be issued only to a limited number of persons.

    • The quarantine exemption certificate issued after 24 January 2022 is effective within 14 days after the issuance. The persons who obtained the certificate after 24 January 2022 shall conduct rapid antigen test on the third and the fifth day upon arrival using home test kits; and recommended to work from home for three days upon the arrival.
