Application Flow
Submit your application
You can submit a visa application at the IOM Korea Visa Application Center (KVAC) or at one of the authorized agencies. The address and contact information of the IOM KVAC and the authorized agencies can be found here.

Before proceeding, please check all important notices and the VISA FINDER here.
1. Determine the appropriate visa type.
2. Prepare your documentation.
3. Make the necessary payment.
- Make payment for the KVAC service fee and any other optional service fees to KVAC’s Mongolian Tugrik (MNT) account.
- If applicable, pay the visa fee to KVAC’s US Dollar (USD) account.
4. Visit the KVAC.
5. Submit proof of payment (e.g., bank slips) and your application documents to the KVAC.
6. The KVAC will review the completeness of the application and enter the data into the Korea Visa Portal.
7. The KVAC will provide the receipts for the payments. Please bring the receipt for the passport collection.
8. The KVAC will deliver the application documents to the ROK Embassy to Mongolia.
9. The ROK Embassy will review the application and make a visa decision.
10. The KVAC will collect your passport from the ROK Embassy after the visa decision is made.
11. The KVAC will contact you for the passport collection.
12. Collect your passport at the KVAC.

6. The agency will deliver your visa application documents to the KVAC.
7. The KVAC will review the completeness of the application documents and enter the data into the Korea Visa Portal.
8. The KVAC will deliver the application documents to the ROK Embassy to Mongolia.
9. The ROK Embassy will review the application and make a visa decision.
10. The KVAC will collect your passport from the ROK Embassy after the visa decision is made.
11. The KVAC will contact you for the passport collection.
11. KVAC will return your passport and documentation to the respective agencies where you submitted your visa application.
12. Collect your passport at the agency.

When applicants entrust their visa application to a third party due to unavoidable reasons, such as being over 70 years old, experiencing illness, injury, or facing severe disabilities classified as higher than 3rd-degree

- Power of attorney must be notarized
- The Korean version of the Notarized Delegation of Authority letter is mandatory. If the translated letter is missing, the delegate will not be able to submit the application.
- If the delegate who applied for the applicant’s visa is planning to act as a delegate again to collect the passport after when the visa decision is made by the embassy, please describe this information in detail in the Delegation of Authority letter so that you don’t have to prepare a separate letter for delegating passport collection.
Processing Time
Processing time may vary depending on:
- Visa type;
- The complexity of the documentation;
- Completeness and accurateness of documentation and provided information;
- Need for interview; and
- Seasonal demand.
Upon receiving visa application documentation from KVAC, the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Mongolia requires below time to process a visa application. The exact processing time may vary depending on the visa type.

Medical Tourism visa, Application with Confirmation of Visa Issuance: 7 working days

Visa for individuals invited by institutions: 30 working days

Study visa: 20 working days

Tourism visa including multi-entry visa, F-1, F-2, F-3: 30 working days

Marriage migration visa: 60 working days
Please consider both the processing time and the expiry date of the visa when you plan to apply. It is highly recommended to submit the application well in advance of the planned departure date.
In case of emergencies, the Embassy may consider expediting the process provided there is a reasonable and attestable reason. Please provide a detailed explanation when submitting the application.
Passport Collection
Once you have been notified that a decision has been made by the embassy, your passport will be ready for the collection. Please bring the following required documents for passport collection at the KVAC.
- Temporary Passport Return

You may request a temporary passport return after your Korea visa application submission. Please note that your visa application status on the visa portal (www.visa.go.kr) must be 'application received' for the request. If the status is either not available or 'under review', please request an application withdrawn at the ROK Embassy.
- You can make the temporary passport return request at the ROK Embassy on weekdays between 09:00 and 11:30.
- The passport will be available for collection at the KVAC from 14:00 after two working days.
- The passport must be returned to the KVAC within 4 weeks. Failure to do so will result in the rejection of your visa application.
- The application number must be attached to the passport when returned.

If you collect your own passport at the KVAC, please bring the required documents below for identity verification. If any of the required documents are missing, the passport will not be returned.

Track your application
To track your application status, please go to the “Check Application Status and Print” page of the Korea Visa Portal (visa.go.kr).
- Please select “Diplomatic Office” among the “Type of Applications”.
- Provide all required information including the applicant’s passport number, the applicant’s name in English as shown in the passport, and the applicant’s date of birth.
